The Story So Far
As a child I loved clothes, I was constantly changing from one outfit to the next, sometimes up to four times a day, 'mixing it up.' I loved to experiment with fashion and, encouraged by my mother to be unique, I found clothes were a fabulous way of expression.
When I left school I was offered an apprenticeship at Hardy Amies in Savile Row and studied at the London College of Fashion. I worked my way up through the ranks of couture dressmaking, learning from my amazing colleagues who had themselves trained with the greatest Haute Couture houses from around the world. After twelve years I was running my own atelier studio with a fabulous team of artists where we created beautiful handmade gowns for wonderful people including royalty and celebrities.
I was then asked by Bellville Sassoon in Sloane Square to take a position as pattern cutter heading my own studio, working with another great team creating more glamorous evening dresses, wedding gowns and seasonal collections which is where I stayed for another twelve years.
I took a break to have my family and moved to Cornwall where I now have my own studio with the addition of a fabulous sea view and it is from here that I continue fulfilling my passion of creating elegant dresses. I love designing for my clients; after an initial consultation, we are able to work together on a design and style lines, fabrics and details are discussed and an idea is born. The exciting journey begins with emphasis on formulating the perfect fit and exact proportions in relation to body measurements. After a number of fittings an exclusive, unique garment is created with the highest standard of craftsmanship. I'm a true perfectionist and take great pride in my work. My clients tell me that to have a bespoke dress specifically designed and made is their dream come true.
